Music Room

Imagine a time… no cell phones, no YouTube, no on-demand movies or TV or music. The Pioneers who settled the Black Hills area entertained themselves with music they made on their own. Later inventions such as the gramophone, radio and 78rpm record player were amazing innovations that brought sounds from around the world into people’s homes and all are represented in the music room! One of the museum’s most treasured and rare artifacts is here – a handmade Hayes, Lattin & Co. piano from the early 1800’s – only four were made each year!
